Exceptional small 8" dial clock signed Carter, Cornhill, London. Circa 1824.

Two train fusee movement striking on a bell with a strike-silent facility above the 12 o’clock on the dial. Front plate stamped with a Thwaites & Reed number 7209, which allows the clock to be dated accurately to 1824.
Fine flame mahogany veneered case of very good colour with brass inlayed stringing. There are two curved side doors fitted with brass pierced fish-scale frets to allow the sound of the bell to travel.

Convex painted dial with the original surface and matching steel hands.
