George II sundial signed F Howell, London. Francis Howell is recorded as working at his address in the Strand till his death in 1761. Handsome 15' bronze dial plate with good patina. Engraved with fine detail, a minute chapter around the outside edge, latitude 51ยบ 56 and the inscription "I count the bright hours only". Original octagonal Bath stone baluster plinth. Height 43".
