Remembering Neill with a smile and more.

The afternoon will be a celebration of Neill’s life, and I hope not a sombre affair but rather a happy one of shared memories, with music and lots of laughter, as befitting a man who made us all smile. Please don’t feel as though you have to wear anything dark and formal, but maybe something you would normally wear for a beer with Neill, a full Spurs kit if you feel so inclined – but ultimately there is no dress code, just what you wish to wear!

At the service there will be a small number of speakers sharing their thoughts and memories of Neill with us all, and after the closing music, instead of a book of remembrance there will be an opportunity to write a short personal message to Neill on the coffin should you wish. Please do have a think in advance about what you’d like to say as time is limited and I’d like all those who wish to, to have the time and opportunity.

Afterwards we invite you to a more informal celebration of all that Neill loved and meant to us, in a pub that has so many memories – I worked there on many a Saturday night to pay for my driving lessons, Neill was part of the quiz team, and I was the official scorer, we both played in their regular monthly cribbage nights, and I think we may have even won once or twice. Bat & Trap was also a great way to spend a summer evening. We have many happy memories of long nights with good friends at the pub and I hope that Tuesday will be one more to add to the list!

The address for the pub is:
The Chequers Inn
Watery Lane
Heaverham
TN15 6NP

Maps and directions will be provided at the crematorium.

I look forward to seeing you.
