Antique Clock Restoration

Clock restoration is an important part of the antique clock business.

Care and thought is essential in sympathetic clock restoration

High quality work is time consuming and it is therefore necessary to make an appointment to visit the shop for either sales or restoration.

Quarter Repeat - Quarter Repeating Bracket Clocks

Restoration of quarter repeat work to early English bracket and longcase clocks is arguably the most difficult and problematic the horologist will encounter.

A prime reason for this assertion is that so much of the early work from the late 17th century onwards was highly individual. Although it has been my privilege to work on many such clocks, there have still been examples where the missing components and layout bear no resemblance to anything seen in reference books or past experience. Despite such restoration demanding many hours of careful thought and execution, the reinstatement of quarter repeat mechanism is a service we are proud to offer the discerning collector.
